Personally, I rooted my Nook Simple Touch so I could install a third party eBook reader so my place is saved across my devices even for sideloaded books so if the issue is sideloaded books I'm probably covered. So are you saying that sideloading of books will be disabled or that we will no longer be able to access our eBooks purchased from BN? Only the app will show up, but you can see all your Nook and Kobo books within their. If you download the eBook file to your computer, you can then copy it to a portable eReader, Kindle, Nook. To add the files, you just downloaded, to your calibre library. Sideloading is done by dropping the eBook file in the My Documents folder on the device or using the Nook program on your computer or something like Calibre. I just received a gift card to Barnes and Noble for my birthday. The eBooks can be viewed on more than one device. Or are you talking about a download button on BN's web site? I've no experience with that as I'll just pull the eBooks off my device with Calibre if I ever need to do that. You can now browse your book collection and download books from calibre to your device to open with whatever e-book reading software you have on your Android. The download button appears for those books one has purchased from BN and at least on my android app the buttons are still there. The headline doesn't match with the text in my experience. I've done some searching and I'm not seeing similar reports, though my Twitter searching skills are nil.
